Thought a dryer was full of lint, turned out to be 47 cents and a toy car
Last Tuesday I got called out to a house in Mesa for a dryer that wouldn't heat, and the homeowner swore it was packed with lint because she'd cleaned the trap twice. When I pulled the vent line off the back, a plastic toy car and a pile of loose change came spilling out onto her laundry room floor. I sat there on the tile counting 47 cents while her kid stood in the doorway watching me like I was stealing his stuff. The vent was clogged solid with a sock and about a pound of sheet lint behind all of it, so the heat was just backing up into the cabinet. I ran a vent brush through the whole line, cleared it, and the dryer fired right up on the first test cycle. She asked if I could leave the coins on the counter and honestly I did. How often do you all find toys and money jammed up in a vent line?
