Old client in Tulsa asked me to spray her roses, now I always walk the property line first
She said 'the neighbors tree sheds on my lawn every fall, can you just shake it off?' but come spring I found out she had been painting herbicide on his side of the fence for 5 years, has anyone else dealt with a boundary dispute that turned out way worse than the actual tree work?

How do you even keep a straight face when a client hands you a story like that? She was out there for 5 years with a paintbrush playing chemical warfare over a fence and then acts like the tree is the problem. That is not a yard issue, that is a person who has been mad for half a decade and needed a target. I would have backed off that job the second I heard the words "shake it off" because nobody says that about a neighbor's tree unless there is history. Sounds like you did the smart thing walking that line first, saves you from getting dragged into whatever war is going on next door. Some people hire you for the work but really they just want a witness for their grudge.
