The squirrel that stole my climbing rope in Boise had a better grip than my new hire

Last Tuesday I set up a canopy tie-off for a 60 foot pine job and a chunky squirrel grabbed the tail end of my 11mm line, bolted up a nearby fir, then dropped it into a storm drain, and now I'm wondering if anyone else has ever watched a rodent basically run their morning crew better than a trainee who forgot his harness.

Funny story, but honestly I see it different. A squirrel doesn't know the job. It just grabbed a line and ran. Your trainee forgot his harness, sure, but that's a one-time mistake, not a pattern. Give the guy a month and he'll be tying canopy lines and reading the tree better than any rodent. Animals do random stuff. People can learn. That's the whole point of hiring.
