Had to choose between volunteering at the Mesa Verde dig or the new Roman villa site in York
Picked Mesa Verde for the Ancestral Puebloan pottery, but the travel costs were way over my budget. Anyone have tips for finding funded volunteer spots in North America?

Is it really that big of a deal though? They exist, you just have to look in the right places. Most people just don't want to put in the work to find them. Calling them unicorns makes it sound impossible, and that's just not true. It's more like finding a specific pair of shoes on sale, not chasing a myth.
