Just realized I misread a dig map and found a posthole anyway

Last month I was helping map a test trench outside Santa Fe and I transposed two grid coordinates, totally my fault. We ended up digging a meter off from where the ground survey said a wall should be. Instead of nothing, we hit a dark stain with charcoal and a couple of sherds, turned out to be a posthole from a later occupation. The lead archaeologist just laughed and said the map is a suggestion, not a promise. Has anyone else had a lucky mistake like that turn into a real find?

The map is a suggestion, not a promise" is honestly the best archaeology motto I've ever heard. So did you guys figure out if that posthole was part of a known structure, or is it totally new to the site record? Cause that kind of lucky break usually messes with the whole interpretation of the area, right?
