Three years of stacking cheese the wrong way

I always put the soft cheeses on the bottom of my snack plates, thinking it looked more stable. Then my buddy who works at a deli pointed out that everything above it just crushes the brie into a sad, flat mess. He showed me how he puts hard cheeses and meats on the bottom and soft stuff on top so it keeps its shape. Has anyone else been doing this backwards for way too long?

Nah, man, I did the exact same thing for years. I used to think the soft stuff needed the weight of the hard stuff on top to stay put, but it just turns into a puddle. Once I flipped it around and started with the hard aged cheddar and prosciutto on the bottom, everything held together way better. That brie stays soft and round instead of getting squished into a sad little pancake. It's one of those small changes that makes a huge difference.
