Question about the free table at my library branch in Akron
Stopped by the Akron Main Library on a Tuesday and saw a folding table by the entrance piled with art stuff, half-used tubes of acrylic, a few brushes, a sketchbook with maybe 10 pages left. Ten years ago that same spot was just a lost and found bin for umbrellas. Now there's a sign taped up that says take what you need, bring back what you don't, and it empties out every week. Kind of wild that a library is doing what we used to do in art class at the end of the semester. Does anyone know if other branches around here have started doing this too?
That "take what you need, bring back what you don't" setup is smart, way better than stuff just sitting in a bin forever. My local branch in Highland Square started doing the same thing last year with a little shelf by the DVDs, and it stays pretty full most weeks.
