Spent $40 on a set of 6 half dried up oil paints at a garage sale, and the burnt sienna alone was worth it
I figured $40 for 6 tubes was a gamble since the caps were crusty, but the burnt sienna and yellow ochre were still soft and I've been mixing them for weeks now, so has anyone else scored decent paints from a sale where the tubes looked completely dead?
Tbh I did the same thing last summer, got a box of like 10 tubes for 15 bucks and half of them were solid as a rock. I just poked a hole in the crusty ones and squeezed out the soft stuff underneath, some of it was totally fine. Old oil paints can last forever if the cap was on tight enough, the dried part just seals it up.
