A guy at the laundromat in Cleveland said "just ask the question you think is too small" and it stuck with me
I was folding clothes next to this older guy at a laundromat on West 25th in Cleveland about two weeks ago, and he was on the phone with his kid helping him figure out something about a car noise. He kept saying just ask it, even if it sounds dumb, because the worst answer is still an answer. I laughed and asked him what he meant, and he said he spent 20 years at his job never asking the small questions because he didn't want to look like he didn't know. He said he learned more in his last 3 years there just by asking than he did in the first 10. It made me think about how often I sit on a question in a group or on a forum like this one because I figure someone will think it's obvious. Probably half the stuff I've wondered about here gets answered because one person was brave enough to ask the "dumb" version. So I'm asking now, has anyone else had a moment where a tiny question you were embarrassed to ask ended up being the one that actually helped?
