Had to choose between a gas stove and induction last kitchen reno

I went with induction after reading about efficiency and safety, and honestly the first month was frustrating because my old pans wouldn't work. Once I bought a decent set of magnetic cookware though, the boil times got noticeably faster. Has anyone else switched and found their electric bill went down like mine did?

Right, because nothing says "new kitchen" like discovering half your cookware is now just fancy paperweights. My favorite part was watching my boyfriend try to fry an egg on a pan that literally wouldn't heat up. Waste of time and money buying a whole new set of pots. But hey, at least my electric bill dropped like a rock, so I guess I'm paying off those new pans in utility savings... slowly. Just gotta love when "safety and efficiency" means replacing everything you own first.

Isn't it funny how every "improvement" these days comes with a whole list of things you have to throw out first? It's not just kitchens either. I switched to LED bulbs a few years back and half my old lamps couldn't even use them right. Same with streaming music, you buy a new speaker and suddenly your old playlists don't sound the same. It feels like we're always paying for the privilege of having things work the way they're supposed to, instead of just having them work from the start. You trade one hassle for a slightly less annoying hassle and call it progress.
