My mount's RA motor died 40 minutes into the Perseids, so I just sat in the yard
Two Saturdays ago I lugged my whole rig out to a field near Ridgecrest, got a good polar alignment, and 40 minutes in the mount's RA motor just stopped tracking mid-exposure. Every star came out as a long white streak, and I lost about 90 minutes of planned shots. I said some colorful words, then unplugged everything and laid on a blanket watching meteors with my bare eyes instead. Honestly, some of those have stuck with me longer than any stacked shot I've made. Has anyone else had a motor quit on them mid-session, and did you bother fixing it or just replace the mount?
