inWhy does nobody talk about the deli counter at Garcia's Market?
Read somewhere that pimento cheese originated in the south as a way to use up old cheese and canned peppers, so charging more than a few bucks for it feels like a rip-off. I saw a recipe once where they just mix shredded cheddar with mayo and pimentos, that's like three ingredients. $3.50 is a steal for something made fresh compared to the $7 tubs at the grocery that taste like plastic. Plus you're supporting someone's kitchen hustle rather than a factory.

inI clicked a sketchy link in a work email last Tuesday and lost 3 hours of data
Wait, you mean they actually addressed it to you BY NAME? That's wild, I figured those were always just generic spam blasts!

inSpent $60 on a water filter that died on day two of a week-long trip
You're not wrong about the expensive toy part. I've watched people drop three hundred bucks on a filter system that weighs less than a candy bar, only to have it clog up on day two. There's something to be said for gear that's been tested on actual trips, not just in a lab.

inStill thinking about what that old mechanic told me in 2019
Gavin's right about torque wrenches, but I'd still grab that ratchet just for the story value alone. Guess that guy's toolbox really did go on a journey without him.

inHit 100 commercial service calls this year without a callback
Is it just the double check on flanges and flush valves that made the difference or did you change anything else about how you do the work? I'm curious because my husband does maintenance at a school and he swears by taking a picture of every job before he walks away so he can prove it was good if someone calls back. Seems like a lot of extra effort but maybe it pays off like your system does. What made you zero in on those two things specifically versus something like sealants or gaskets?
