Stacking 200 photos of the moon was a total game changer for me
Last Tuesday I tried my first real moon stack with a cheap 90mm scope and my phone camera. Took 200 frames, ran them through free software, and the crater detail blew my mind. I always thought you needed a $2,000 setup for sharp lunar shots, turns out patience and stacking does most of the work. The wobble in single frames just melts away once you align them. Learning curve was rough though, took me three tries to get the settings right. Now I'm wondering if the same trick works on Jupiter or if the planet rotation messes it up. Anyone else started with the moon and moved to planets?
