Blew $180 on a folding e-scooter for my commute to the Arts Center station and I regret nothing
Everyone in the Atlanta chats says just drive or take MARTA and skip the scooter thing, but I did the math on my own situation two months back. I park at Lindbergh and my office is a little over a mile from the Arts Center station, so I was doing that walk twice a day in the heat and showing up wrecked. I grabbed a used folding scooter off Marketplace for $180 and it cut my door to desk time from 40 minutes down to about 14. The bus that runs that stretch comes every 20 minutes and I have waited 25 before, so it was never a real backup. Here is where I will push back on the crowd: yes, the sidewalks on Peachtree are rough and I ate it once on a buckled slab near 10th. But for less than the price of two months of parking downtown, it has done more for my mornings than anything else I have bought this year. Nobody I know agrees with me on this one, so tell me straight: does the scooter thing make sense to you or am I out here risking my teeth for nothing?
