Last week I was poking around the Atlanta Regional Commission site for a totally different reason and ran into a transit report from 2023. The number that got me was that the median bus rider here spends around 55 minutes each way, and only about 1 in 8 riders gets door to door in 35 minutes or less on rail. I live off the Blue Line in Kirkwood and my own ride to a job site near the airport runs right at an hour with the transfer, so that tracks. Side one says this is just what you sign up for when you pick a city with sprawl and bad bus coverage. Side two says we keep voting for road widenings while the Cascade Road buses sit in the same traffic as everyone else, so of course the times stink. I honestly go back and forth on it because I know people who would kill for an hour each way compared to a two hour ride from Stonecrest. What's your actual commute time on MARTA, and did it get better or worse in the last couple years?
