Why does nobody mention the Kirkwood footbridge shortcut when giving directions around here?
I used to tell everyone coming to my place off Hosea that they had to go all the way around through Decatur or sit in that mess on Memorial, because that is just what I always did. Last week a neighbor kid was walking past while I was out getting my mail and I asked him how he got over here so fast from the village. He just shrugged and said the footbridge near the old rail line behind the church dumps you right out on my side, takes like 6 minutes. I felt dumb because that bridge is not hidden, I had just never once considered it for anything except walking a dog. Now I walk it myself when I go grab coffee, and I have been sending folks that way. A buddy from Grant Park came over Saturday and could not believe I never used it, said people on his side have been crossing there for years. Am I the only one who gave directions the long way for like 8 years without ever trying the walking path first?
