Patching a rusty garden tool holder with my shop skills brought back old memories.
I had this old metal tool holder in the garage that was all rusty and dented. When I first learned the trade, we would grind and fill rust by hand. Now I used a sandblaster and two part epoxy from the shop. It was done in a fraction of the time. But I remember the pride in making something perfect with just basic tools. The new ways are great, but they change how we learn the craft. Do you ever use your repair skills for stuff around the house? How does it compare to when you began?

Last year, I thought DIY was just hassle, but your post showed me the pride in perfecting small things!

Pride in making something perfect"? For a garden tool holder?

Seen this a lot where folks take real pride in perfecting mundane stuff, like a clean garage or a well built shelf. It's not about the garden tool holder itself, @nguyen.wesley, but the satisfaction of doing one thing really well when so much else is half done. That careful work on a small project can feel like a tiny win in a chaotic day. Basically, it turns a simple task into something that actually matters to you.
