A guy at the shop in Reno told me to torque wheels by feel, and I've been arguing about it since
Last month a guy named Dale at the shop off 4th Street in Reno told me he hasn't used a torque wrench on lug nuts in 20 years and never had a wheel come loose. Half the crew backed him up saying feel is fine once you know it, and the other half said that's how you kill somebody on the highway. I've been using a wrench since I started turning wrenches 12 years ago and I'm not about to stop now. So who's right here, does anybody actually trust the German spec on wheels or am I wasting my time arguing with Dale?

If feel worked my ex would still be here. Use the wrench.
