My impact wrench died on a lug nut and I had to get creative at 6pm in the shop
I was finishing a brake job on a 2014 Silverado at the shop off 5th street when my impact wrench just quit on the last lug nut. It was 6pm, everyone else had gone home, and the customer was waiting in the lobby. I grabbed a 24 inch breaker bar and a cheater pipe from the back, but the nut was so seized I thought I'd snap the stud. After soaking it with PB Blaster and waiting 10 minutes, I stood on the pipe and it finally broke loose with a loud crack. Turns out the nut had cross threaded from the last guy who used a torque stick wrong. Has anyone else had a tool die mid job and had to MacGyver it?
