Vent: my shop air compressor went from 90 psi to 140 psi after I drained the tank and changed the filter
I've been fighting weak air tools for about 2 months. My impact gun would barely bust lug nuts loose and I figured the gun was shot. Last Saturday I finally drained the tank on my old 60 gallon and about a cup of rusty water came out, then I swapped the clogged inlet filter. Pressure at the tool jumped from 90 to 140 psi and my 1/2 inch impact now zips off a 140 ft-lb lug in about 2 seconds. I felt dumb for buying new sockets thinking that was the problem. Anyone else ignore the water trap until a tool quits on them?
