Unpopular opinion: paying a broker $150 deposit before you have a signed carrier contract is just lighting money on fire
Got burned last month on a move from Denver to Kansas City when the broker pocketed my deposit and the carrier showed up quoting $400 over the original price, so now I only book with companies that don't ask for a dime until a truck is actually assigned.
