Paid a broker $150 deposit on a car shipment from Phoenix to Denver, then found out the actual trucker quoted me $700 less direct
Booked through one of those big online brokers back in March for my Accord, gave them a $150 deposit up front because they promised a truck within 3 days. A week passed, no truck, and when I finally called a carrier directly out of Phoenix they quoted me $600 for the same route. The broker's total was $1,300 plus my deposit, so I basically threw away $150 for a middleman who did nothing but post my listing. Anyone else get burned by a broker deposit, and did you ever get the money back or just eat it?
