Showerthought: I shipped my car open carrier to save $200 and it showed up with a cracked windshield
I moved from Denver to Austin in March and went with an open carrier instead of enclosed to save about $200. The driver called me the night before delivery and everything sounded fine, but when the car rolled off in Austin there was a crack running across the whole passenger side of the windshield. He said it was probably a rock from the highway, and the carrier's insurance wanted me to prove it wasn't already there before pickup. Now I take a video walking around the car at drop off and pickup every single time. Anyone else had a claim like this actually get paid out?
