15 years in the hangar and I never once wrote up a pinched wire the way we all do
I hit my 15,000th hour of avionics bench and install work last month. That number snuck up on me, but what got me is how many of those hours went into fighting intermittent faults that turned out to be the same simple thing, a wire pinched under a clamp or a connector backshell not torqued right. Everyone I know bitches about chasing ghosts, but nobody changes how they route bundles because it's boring and slow. My usual fix rate is around 80 percent on first pass, but those stubborn cases taught me to walk the whole harness before ever touching a meter. Has anyone else tracked their own hour count and found the same pattern with recurring install mistakes, or am I the only one keeping that ledger?

I've got 15 years in and still pinch wires myself, so my ledger's mostly just me screwing up.
