After a Dubai layover, I'm rethinking avionics repair organization.
Got to see their color-coded parts setup during a stopover. It seemed too complex for daily use. Do any of you work in places with similar methods?

My local hardware store uses a color coded system for plumbing parts. It looks neat but often confuses DIY folks who just want to find a simple pipe fitting. I see this in a lot of places now, where the system is designed for show more than daily use. Even my home toolbox has colored dividers that I ignore because I know where everything is by feel.

Sounds like Diana21's buddy Kyle saw that mess coming a mile away.

Man, my buddy Kyle had that happen at his old shop. They redid the whole tool crib with rainbow labels and digital trackers. Looked like a tech brochure photo. Took guys twice as long to find anything. Total mess until they went back to sharpie on foam.
