Hit 500 miles on the Superior Hiking Trail and it snuck up on me
I was logging my miles in a little notebook like always and did the math at a camp off the Baptism River and realized I'd crossed 500 total miles on the SHT since 2019. Back when I started, I thought 50 miles in a summer was a big deal, and now a 20 mile day with a loaded pack feels like a normal Tuesday. The trail itself has changed too, some of the old muddy stretches near Tettegouche got rerouted and boardwalked, which honestly makes me a little sad even if my knees are grateful. Anyone else keep a paper log of their miles, or am I the last person doing that?
