Raccoon ate my dehydrated meals at Grayson Highlands, now I bring a bear canister everywhere
Last October I was setting up camp near the Rhododendron Trail when a bold raccoon unzipped my pack and ran off with two bags of my Mountain House meals. I chased it for about 50 yards before it dropped one bag, but the other was gone for good. Cost me $18 to replace that dinner at the Damascus grocery store the next day. Has anyone else had food theft by non-bear critters that made you switch your storage setup?
