Serious question, I went stoveless on the Superior Hiking Trail for 4 days and actually hated it
Everyone on here keeps saying cold soaking saves weight and hassle, so I left the stove at home for a 4 day stretch from Finland to Silver Bay last month. I saved maybe a pound and a half and ate cold oats and peanut butter for three breakfasts straight. I was miserable by day two. I mean, maybe it was the weather, it rained the whole second day, but a hot cup of coffee was the one thing I actually wanted out there. Has anyone gone back to a stove after trying this, or did I just do it wrong?
