Appreciation post: the feed store lady's advice about adding garlic to water actually worked
She told me last spring that a clove of garlic in the drinker would help with respiratory issues, I figured it was old wives' tale stuff but three of my hens had that rattly breathing and after two weeks on garlic water they cleared right up, so has anyone else tried this or was it just coincidence timing?

Two weeks on garlic water fixed three hens with rattly breathing, and you're telling me it actually cleared them up? That's wild. I tried it once on a single rooster with a wheeze and gave up after four days because I thought I was just making the water taste weird for nothing. Maybe I needed to stick with it longer, or maybe your birds just got lucky, but now I'm kicking myself for not testing it on my whole flock.
