I dropped $80 on a heated water base and it was the best money I spent this winter

After two winters of hauling buckets of hot water out twice a day and chipping ice, I finally bought a heated base for my 5-gallon waterer. It was about $80 from the farm store. I was worried about the electric bill or a fire risk, but I plugged it in and it just worked. The water never froze, not even during that cold snap last week where it hit 15 degrees. My girls stayed hydrated, I saved so much time, and I didn't have to worry about them getting sick from not drinking enough. I wish I hadn't waited so long to get one. Has anyone else found a specific product that just solved a huge seasonal headache for them?

Ugh yes, it's always the simple stuff that makes the biggest difference. I feel like half of adult life is just finding those little upgrades that stop the daily grind.

My friend used to have a terrible shower head with no pressure. Getting a cheap, decent one felt like a five star hotel upgrade. Those tiny fixes really do change your whole day.
