It took me 8 months to figure out my chickens were eating the wrong grit
I kept having hens with soft shells and slow digestion, even though I was giving them oyster shell and what I thought was the right stuff. Turns out the feed store in my town was selling me poultry grit that was way too big for my bantam Cochins. I finally switched to a finer, insoluble granite grit from a brand called Manna Pro and the problem cleared up in a week. How do you all make sure you're getting the right size grit for your flock?

Honestly, that sounds like a fluke. I've used the big grit from my local store for years and never had a single issue.

Yeah "never had a single issue" is the key, but one bad batch can ruin your whole project.

Never had a single issue" is a strong claim. How many projects are we talking about over those years? A small sample size could just mean you've been lucky so far. It doesn't really prove the product is always reliable.
