PSA: I lost a full day's pay on a bad batch of curing compound

Magic beans" is a bit harsh, maybe they just had a bad batch. Sometimes you gotta try new stuff, the old brands get lazy.

PSA: Heard a client in Dallas say they got a 'chemical peel' from a nail salon

Remember when I used to think a peel was just a peel? Then my cousin went to a cheap place and got what looked like a sunburn that wouldn't heal for weeks. How can we get people to see it's not about the price, it's about the person holding the bottle?

My uncle told me to skip the hardware cloth for my coop and just use chicken wire

Look, I get it. Hardware cloth is expensive. My cousin in Michigan used chicken wire for years with no problems. It depends on your area. If you don't have a big predator problem, maybe you just got unlucky with one smart raccoon. Reinforcing just the bottom few feet might be enough instead of redoing the whole thing.

That old DSC PC1832 panel in the basement finally gave up the ghost

Hold on now, I gotta disagree. That PC1832 is a tank if the rest of the system is good. I've kept a bunch of those old girls running for years past their prime. The main board going is one thing, but the chips and sensors are still out there if you look hard enough. It's often way cheaper to find a used working board online than doing a full swap with new keypads and everything. For a lot of folks, keeping the old system going makes more sense than a big upgrade.
