Figuring out why Jupiter kept hiding from my binoculars...

I've noticed many of us struggle with shaky binoculars when stargazing... my own views of Jupiter were always blurry. I fixed it by using a garden chair and a towel as a rest. The towel cuts down on the shakes and the chair stays put. Now I can spot Jupiter's moons without issue... it really helped.

Did the towel also help with the chair digging into your elbows?

Man, don't you hate that shaky blur? I had the same exact problem trying to see Saturn last summer. My hands just would not stay still, and the view was a total mess. I ended up leaning my elbows on the top of a fence post in my yard, which looked silly but kind of worked. It's crazy what we come up with just to get a clear look.

Oh man, my hands shake so bad I once nearly sent my binoculars into orbit just trying to look at the moon. Your towel idea is genius, way smarter than my method of trying to lean them on my head which, shocker, did NOT work. I probably looked like I was trying to give myself a concussion while also spying on the neighbors. Getting a steady view is half the battle, and I am clearly losing it.
