I finally tried those expensive window decals that look like frost

Bought a pack of those fancy etched-glass style decals for $45, thinking they'd be invisible to me but clear to birds. Put them up on my big living room window in Denver. A robin hit the glass right between two of them last Tuesday, so they clearly don't cover enough area. Has anyone found a pattern or spacing that actually works without making your window look like a sticker book?

I thought those cheap thermal cameras from Harbor Freight were junk until one found a bad connector on a King Air's autopilot.

I was sure my 3-2-1 method was perfect, cooking at 225 for the full six hours. The judge, an old guy who looked like he'd seen it all, wrote on my score sheet 'texture like baby food, no bite.' That hit hard. I went home and started testing. I found out my wrap with brown sugar and butter was steaming them too much. Now I do a 2-1-1 method, skip the butter in the wrap, and only use a tiny bit of apple juice. The ribs have a clean pull now, not a fall-off-the-bone mush. It took me three cooks to get it right. Anyone else get a harsh score that actually fixed a big flaw in their process?

Showerthought: I grab the cheapest chicken even though I know how it's raised.

The group always pushes for free-range meat to be kind, but my wallet can't handle that cost. It's a tough spot between saving cash and feeling okay about dinner.

Figuring out why Jupiter kept hiding from my binoculars...

I've noticed many of us struggle with shaky binoculars when stargazing... my own views of Jupiter were always blurry. I fixed it by using a garden chair and a towel as a rest. The towel cuts down on the shakes and the chair stays put. Now I can spot Jupiter's moons without issue... it really helped.
