That week in '09 when we put up a cedar fence in a blizzard

That heater was outside the tarp shelter.

Looking back at my first bullet journal from 2018

Totally get the "felt like a chore" thing. My buddy was the same with a basic fitness app, just checking boxes. He switched to one with silly badges and a goofy character that cheers, and now he's actually consistent. Sometimes the little bit of fun is what makes a habit stick, not just the efficiency.

Figured my crochet hook was just misplaced. Spotted it in the freezer this morning. Now I'm second-guessing every little thing.

Yeah, the fridge thing is just the start. Last week I found the TV remote in the bathroom cabinet. My toothbrush was in a plant pot. It gets to the point where you check the microwave for your wallet before you leave the house. The real kicker is when you're the only one living there.

Showerthought: I was at a fabric market in Bangkok and saw a tailor using old rice sacks for a jacket lining.

Man, that's actually pretty smart... reminds me of what @abbyk10 said about the tire wallet. If it works and it's tough, it's not a gimmick, it's just good sense. Some of that stuff outlasts the fancy new things anyway.

From my toolbox: a simple voltage tester beats digital for quick fixes

Elizabeth's point about reliable data is fair, but my old tester has a different kind of truth to it. It's like that friend who gives you a gut feeling instead of hard facts, and my gut has been wrong in some pretty funny ways. I once spent an hour looking for a ghost voltage it swore was there, only to find I'd left my lunchbox on the disconnect. You can't blame the tool for the guy holding it, right?
