How I wasted $95 on a hand warmer for a meteor shower that never showed
Last month I drove out to a field past Round Rock with my scope and a new $95 battery hand warmer I got for the cold. The sky was clear when I left, but by 11pm a low cloud bank rolled in from the west and covered everything. I sat there for two hours warming my hands and looking at gray nothing. The meteor shower peaked the next night and I missed it because I was too annoyed to try again. Has anyone found a cheap way to keep warm that doesn't mean buying gear you use once?
