I swore my grandma's old cast iron was overhyped until my $40 nonstick pan died after 4 months
I bought that pan at a Bed Bath and Beyond in Naperville back in March and by July the coating was peeling into my eggs. I kept telling myself the cast iron was too much work and the nonstick was fine, but I was scrubbing burnt patches off it almost every night. After the third egg came out with black flakes in it I tossed the pan and dug the skillet out of my mom's basement. Been using it for two months now and I feel dumb for arguing the other way so hard. What's the dumbest pan or gadget you kept defending way past when it stopped working?
