Saw a neighbor in my building using old milk jugs for her tomato plants

She had cut the tops off and poked holes in the bottom, then planted a single cherry tomato in each one. She told me she got the idea from a local gardening group in Portland. It made me realize how much free stuff we can reuse instead of buying pots. Has anyone else tried something like that with stuff from the recycling bin?

Nice! I've been using old coffee cans for years. They work perfectly for peppers and small greens. It's crazy how much money you can save.

Used to think you needed fancy pots for everything. Now my balcony is full of yogurt tubs with herbs.
