Shoutout to my neighbor Rosa for the bucket idea
Last week I was complaining to Rosa about how my cherry tomatoes kept falling over in the wind on my 6th floor balcony here in Chicago. She shrugged and said she grows everything in 5 gallon buckets with a tomato cage zip tied to the handle. I laughed it off but tried it anyway, and the roots have way more room plus the bucket gives it weight. Has anyone else switched to buckets just for stability, or am I the last one to catch on?

Buckets on a 6th floor balcony turn into sails, Rosa's just lucky hers haven't gone over yet.
