Can we talk about how a $12 pair of shears changed my fades in 2 months?

For my first year I used a $40 pair from a beauty supply place and my fades always looked a little rough at the blend line. Then a guy at the shop in Schenectady let me try his $12 pair that he swears by, and I bought the same ones on my way home. I used them on every fade for 2 months and my repeat clients went from maybe 15 to 28. The cheap ones cut cleaner and I'm not fighting them on dry hair. Now I'm wondering if I've been overpaying for shears my whole career. What's the cheapest tool in your kit that actually beat your nice stuff?
