My old mentor told me to never use a guard over a 2 for a skin fade blend, and I finally see why.

He said it creates a visible 'shelf' that's tough to erase, and to blend with the open lever on a 1.5 instead. Tried it on a client yesterday and the transition was way smoother. Anyone else have a specific guard rule they swear by?

Yeah, and it's wild how right he was, miles54. He kept saying the simplest fix is usually the one you fight against.
