Those $3 clipper blades took me forever to get sharp.

Sharpening cheap blades is a complete WASTE of time. You could have bought three new sets for the hours you threw away on that.

Respectfully push back on that one @robinson.holly. There's something satisfying about getting a cheap set dialed in yourself, plus you learn a lot about angles and pressure (which still helps with expensive steel later). A few bucks and some patience beats throwing more plastic in the landfill any day.
