Walked into my old barber college in Toledo and barely recognized the place
Stopped by the school where I trained back in 2009 and the whole floor is different now. They swapped out the old cloth towels for a towel warmer and paper neck strips, and I counted 6 stations running clippers with cordless Wahl units instead of the clunky ones I learned on. The instructor there said most new students learn fading on YouTube before they ever touch a real head. It's honestly a good thing, but I can't help missing the smell of that old Barbicide jar and the fights over the one good pair of shears. Does anyone else's old shop feel like a totally different place now?
