I thought disc-only games at yard sales were junk until a $2 copy in Fresno proved me wrong
For a long time I skipped any game at a yard sale if the case was empty or just a loose disc. Figured it was scratched and useless, not worth the risk. Then a guy in Fresno sold me a loose copy of a PS1 racing game for $2, and I almost passed on it. He said just check the bottom under a light first. I did, saw one tiny scratch, and it booted fine. Now I bring a cheap little disc buffer and a test console to sales and I have grabbed about 14 loose discs this summer. Anyone else test discs on the spot, or do you just gamble on them?
