My $200 chair arm snapped clean off after 8 months
It was just a regular Tuesday and I leaned back to grab my coffee, then heard a crack and felt the whole right arm drop. Has anyone else had luck with warranty claims for stuff like this, or am I better off just buying a new chair?

Wait, was it actually a Tuesday though? I feel like maybe you're mixing up the days because who even remembers what day it is when your chair breaks, right? Anyway, warranties on chairs under $200 are usually pretty hit or miss in my experience. A lot of the budget brands will give you the runaround saying it's "user error" or "wear and tear" even if it's clearly a manufacturing defect. You gotta look up the specific brand's policy because some of them are actually decent about replacing parts if you take photos and make a big enough stink. But honestly, for an $8 chair I'd probably just toss it and save up for something with a metal frame next time that won't snap when you lean back.

Honestly my first thought was check if you've got renters or homeowners insurance. I've seen claims for accidental damage like this get covered under personal property, especially if it was a sudden break and not gradual wear. Might save you the headache of dealing with a warranty.
