Standing desk or sitting desk, which one is actually worth the extra cash after 9 months on a $400 standing frame?

I bought a cheap standing frame last March and ended up sitting 90% of the time because my feet hurt and I never adjusted the height properly, but my buddy swears his $900 setup changed his back pain completely, so which side are you on and did anyone actually stick with standing for real?
