The lighting at my local coffee shop gave me a bad idea for my desk setup
I was at The Daily Grind in Portland last week reading a book, and I noticed their back wall had these warm track lights aimed right at the tables. The whole place felt cozy but my monitor at home has been giving me a headache for months. I tried putting a small desk lamp on a dimmer switch behind my screen, and it softened the glare way more than I expected. Now I'm thinking of swapping my overhead office light for something warmer, maybe with a diffuser. Has anyone else played around with indirect lighting to fix eye strain from a bright monitor?

Ha, I set my monitor to night mode and still squint like a confused owl at 2PM.

Honestly @iris394, is it really that deep? I keep my brightness cranked to max and just deal with the retinal burn because I can't be bothered to tweak settings every time the sun moves. If anything, the night mode makes it worse cause then everything's this weird orange tint and I still end up leaning forward like I'm trying to read ancient scrolls. lol
