My esthetician in Phoenix said to skip the $90 vitamin C serum for 6 weeks and just use sunscreen, she was right and I'm annoyed | Beauty Cosmetology - Hub Chatter
Six weeks is a long time to test something when you're already spending money on skincare. My derm in Scottsdale told me the opposite, she said sunscreen is the baseline but vitamin C does stuff SPF can't, like fading dark spots and helping with the dullness you get from sun damage over time. Even just 10% ascorbic acid in the morning under sunscreen made a real difference for me in like two weeks, not six. So yeah, sunscreen alone works if your only goal is not getting worse, but it doesn't actually fix anything that's already there.
