Picked balayage over full highlights at a salon in Austin and now I'm not sure
My stylist offered me a choice last Saturday between a balayage and traditional foil highlights and I went with the balayage since she said it grows out softer. That was 5 days ago and the color looks nice but I feel like it's too subtle for the $220 I paid. She said I should give it a couple weeks to settle, but has anyone else picked the softer option and regretted not going bolder?

Waiting a couple weeks won't add color. It fades, it doesn't get brighter. If it feels too soft now, two weeks from now it'll feel even softer. Call the salon and ask about a gloss or a few extra face frame pieces. A good stylist would rather tweak it than lose you over a $220 letdown.

I did the same thing with a haircut once and kept telling myself it would grow on me, but it never did. Just call her now before you waste more weeks hoping it changes.
