Got the local youth center's bike fleet rolling smoothly again
Tbh, seeing the kids' excitement was totally worth the grease stains.

Okay, but let's be real here. Grease stains and happy kids are nice, but is fixing some bikes really that big of a deal? Youth centers have way bigger issues, like not enough money or people to run programs. Sometimes it feels like we pat ourselves on the back for small wins instead of tackling the hard stuff. Fixing bikes might not last, and the kids could lose interest fast. Not saying it's bad, just wondering if it's worth all the hype.

Didn't I used to think like that, until I saw how bike repair builds kids' confidence!

That's a fair point about big problems needing big fixes. It reminds me of this car mechanic who let local teens help in his shop on weekends. Seemed small, just changing oil and tires. But a few of those kids ended up in trade school because of it. Sometimes the small, hands-on thing is the only door that's actually open for a kid, you know? The big program grants and staffing issues feel miles away from a greasy chain that just needs fixing.
