I finally timed myself on a spoke replacement and it was embarrassing
I had a wheel with a snapped spoke on a customer's commuter, and I figured it'd be a quick 20 minute job. Four hours later I was still fighting with the nipple because I kept dropping it into the rim tape gap. Turns out the rim had a double-walled profile I'd never worked with, and my spoke wrench kept slipping on the brass nipple. Has anyone else hit a wall like that, or is there a trick for grabbing nipples in deep rims without fishing them out with a magnet?
